Coombs 2 is a new planned suburb within the Molonglo Valley, edged by the Molonglo River. The region’s history as pine plantation prior to the 2003 Canberra bushfire, connection with adjacent bush reserves, and the inexorable presence of the River were collectively explored as themes in the design of parks, streetscapes and open space spines.
